24/02/05 - Auto Trader to compete with HPI and Experian in car data market
Auto Trader plans to compete with Britain’s two vehicle history databases with its own brand, reports Motor Trade, quoting James Bromley, managing director of parent company Trade Media Group.
Bromley told the paper a senior management team was in place, and discussions with data providers were at an advanced stage. Auto Trader currently refers car buyers to AA Car Data.
11/02/05 - Police target 'overweight' caravans
CRIS, the Caravan Registration and Identification Scheme which is run by vehicle information provider HPI, is warning caravan owners to ensure they are not towing a caravan that's too heavy for their vehicle. Police forces are focusing on caravan safety by conducting 'stop checks' and caravanners with mismatched outfits face hefty fines of up to £1,000.
